Fish Curry

Fish Curry

Ingredients

Fish        - 500gm
chilli powder    - 1 tab.sp.
coriander powder    - 2 tab.sp
turmeric powder    - 1/4 tea.sp
pepper powder    - 1/2 tab.sp
fenugreek powder    - 1/4 tea.sp
onion        - 5 no.small
ginger        - 1small piece
garlic        - 3 pieces
green chilli        - 2no.
kudampuli        - 2 pieces (Malabar tamarind)
tomato        - 1 small
mustard seeds    - 1 sp.
salt
oil
curry leaves

Preparation

Soak kodampuli (tamarind) in water for 15 minutes. Cut onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli and tomato. Add oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter. Then add onion, garlic, ginger and green chilli. Then add tomato pieces and saute till the raw smell leaves.  Add chilli powder etc. Saute for a minute. Add water for cooking fish. Also add salt and kodumpuli (tamarind). Allow it to boil. Put some curry leaves. Add fish pieces. When the gravy becomes thick boil it for 20-25 minutes on low flame. Add some curry leaves also. Now the tasty fish curry is ready. Enjoy!
